On September 23rd, 2016, Jean-Marc Ayrault met with startups of the French Tech in New York in the offices of Datadog to talk about entrepreneurship and the support provided by France to the French startups in the US and worldwide.
President François Hollande received on September 19th the World Statesman Award the 51st Annual Appeal of Conscience Foundation Dinner "for his leadership in safeguarding democracy and freedom in a time of terrorist attacks".
On September 18th, Jean-Marc Ayrault, French minister of Foreign Affairs, visited the World Trade Center Memorial, had a private moment of silence and received the "Survivor tree".
Ms. Laurence Rossignol, Minister of State for the Family, Elderly People and Adult Care, will be in New York from November 19 - 21, 2014 on the occasion of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
On this occasion,she will sign on behalf of the French Government the 3rd optional protocol to the Convention (Thursday 20 November at 12:30pm). This protocol opens up the possibility for children to file a complaint with the Committee on the Rights of the Child in Geneva.
During her visit, the Minister of State will meet with representatives from UNICEF as well as with Ms. Marta Santos Pais, Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, as well as NGOs and New York City’s child protection actors.
These meetings will be an opportunity for the Minister of State to present to her partners France’s reform in the field of child protection.
The Minister of State will also attend high-level UN meetings on the protection of children’s rights on the occasion of the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Mr. Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development will be in New York from September 21 to 28 for the 69th UN General Assembly. He will be accompanied by Ms. Annick Girardin, Minister of State for Development and Francophony.
