After a successful first edition in fall 2015, six new French starts ups were selected to participate in the second session of the French-American Digital Lab//Connecting Cultures, taking place from October 17th through 26th, 2016.
The "Science, Technology, and the Logics of Preventive War" lecture organized by the École Polytechnique and Columbia University will take place on September, 13th at La Maison Française.
From September 1st to September 6th, the Languedoc Frigate will dock in New York. It will open its doors to the public on September 1st for a cocktail and on September 2nd for 2 visit sessions.
The third edition of the New York French Tech club took place at the Consulate General of France in New York on December 15th. On this occasion, Ms. Alicia Glen, Deputy-Mayor in charge of Economic Development, presented New York’s policies in favor of innovating start-ups.

Climate disruption financing – Joint communiqué issued by Laurent Fabius, Ségolène Royal, Michel Sapin and Annick Girardin
At the capitalization meeting, 21 countries pledged to contribute $9.3 billion to the Green Climate Fund, the new international climate disruption financing tool. This fund should support developing countries in their transition toward trajectories that are consistent with the goal of limiting global warming to 2°C.
France wants to spotlight the high-growth-potential start-ups being created all over the country. In order to give them and the regions that welcome them enhanced visibility at international level, the French government has announced the creation of a new “French Tech label”.
On November 7th, a group of American Veterans were made Chevaliers of the French Legion of Honor for their engagement during World War II.
The insignia of the Legion of Honor was bestowed upon the veterans by the Honorable Bertrand Lortholary, Consul general of France and Mr. Guy Wildenstein President of the American Society of the French Legion of Honor.
This event was a commemoration of one of the most significant moments of the French-American friendship, as well as an occasion to reaffirm the unwavering ties between our two peoples.
The ceremony was held at the Lycée français de New York on Friday, November 7th, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

On November 8th, Nicolas Goegel was received by Daniel A. Nigro, Commissioner of the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), in the presence of Robert R. Turner, First Deputy Fire Commissioner, James E. Leonard, Chief of Department, and Bernard Faro, Deputy Consul General of France.
Mr. Goegel, fireman in Bordeaux for 20 years and the founder of the Firemen of the World Museum donated to the FDNY a helmet from the French sapeurs pompiers.
The meeting was an occasion to renew the bond of friendship between the French and the American Fire Departments and recall their years of cooperation, especially in the wake of 9/11.
