Characteristics for Photos
The following recommendations will help to submit the correct type of photos so that your application is not rejected or processing prolonged.
Photos must be 3.5cm X 4.5cm in color (1.4" X 1.9")
The portrait must show the top of the shoulders (or base of the neck).
The size of the face must be between 32mm and 36mm or take up 70 to 80% of the frame.
The face must be correctly centered on the photo.
The photo must have been taken less than six months and perfectly resemble the applicant at the day of application and the day of pick up of the passport.

The luminosity and contrast must allow the natural color of the skin. Their must be no flash reflections on the face or no red eyes.
The facial expression must be neutral and the mouth closed with no hair infront of the eyes.
The face must be seen from a front view. Both sides of the face must be visable.
Styled poses ( looking over one shoulder, head bowed etc...) are not allowed.
The head must be free of all headgear, no hats, scarves, headbands or other decorative objects. There is no exception to this rule.
If you wear glesses, you are not required to wear them in the photo. However if you do your eyes must appear clearly; no tinted lenses, no flash reflections, the frames must not cover any part of your eyes, light or thin frames are recommended.
