Wall Street Journal’s art market reporter, Kelly Crow, probed issues of art theft, evolving risks, art transit, and the effects of globalization on the art market, in conversation with Dr. Ulrich Guntram, global CEO of AXA Art, and Christiane Fischer, President and CEO for AXA Art in the Americas. - Dr. Ulrich Guntram is the CEO of AXA Art. Previously, he occupied several management positions within the AXA Group. Before joining the AXA Group, Dr. Guntram was Managing Director of the Infas Group, a company specializing in empirical research and studies. During his 10-year tenure at McKinsey as a partner, he was responsible for the international business field Information Technology, and co-founded the worldwide Environmental Management Practice.
- Christiane Fischer is the CEO and President of AXA Art in the Americas. Prior to that, she served as COO and Director of Communications of the company. Before Joining AXA in January 2000, Christiane Fischer worked for Daimler-Benz, first in Stuttgart and then in New York. She started her professional career at the Bank of America in Frankfurt. She is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of The Isamu Noguchi Museum; the International Foundation for Art Research (IFAR); and the Advisory Boards of the Chicago Conservation Center.
- Kelly Crow is a staff reporter covering the art market for The Wall Street Journal. She reports on sales at auction houses including Sotheby’s and Christie’s, while analyzing the funding and art-buying activities of the world’s major museums, art fairs, artists and collectors. Before joining the Journal in 2005, she wrote for the New York Times, based at the City desk where she helped cover city government, neighborhoods and the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. She also helped Pulitzer-Prize winner James B. Stewart report on DisneyWar.
