Foundation Jérôme Lejeune US Cocktail
On Thursday June 13th, the Foundation Jérôme Lejeune US was launched here in New York at the Consulate General of France, with honored guests Madame Birthe Lejeune, Mark Bradford and William Mobley.
Jérôme Lejeune is widely considered as the father of modern genetics. He was a renowned doctor and genetics professor, who discovered the link of diseases to chromosome abnormalities, and in particular the genetic cause of Down syndrome. He received the Kennedy Award and the William Allen Memorial.
The Foundation has become the largest private funder of research into Down syndrome. A silent auction was organized and the proceeds will help further medical research.
