La French Touch Conference, a major international event promoting entrepreneurial creativity and innovation, has returned for its 3rd year to New York on June 21 and 22. As part of the conference, 2 competitions gave startups the chance to really stand out.
• Pitch in the Plane - A unique startup competition that took place on the plane between Paris and New York! 6 early-stage startups based in France that have raised at least €300,000, received an all-expenses paid trip to New York. The winner of Pitch in the Plane has been awarded financial support and operational assistance for their expansion in the United States and had the opportunity to pitch their company in New York.
• On stage - An investors’ pitch meeting with French and American investors in New York! 12 French and American startups had the opportunity to present their company on stage at La French Touch Conference on June 22. The criteria for participating: the company must be based in France or the United States, be less than 5 years old, have already raise €2 million, and have a plan to develop its market on the other side of the Atlantic!
La French Touch Conference has two main objectives:
• To increase exposure of French companies in the global market, especially to facilitate international expansion of French start-ups;
• To promote France as an innovative place to do business among foreign entrepreneurs.
La French Touch Conference featured inspiring speakers from highly respected tech companies (Trello, Sprinklr, Vimeo, IBM, Microsoft, Withings, Happn, Synthesio), special networking events, social cocktails and events, and more!
This year for the first time, the conference also featured focused workshops that invite participants to have detailed discussions on specific topics, such as fintech, construction tech, health IT, IoT and industry 4.0.—all areas where French expertise is especially strong.
