Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister of France, Personal Representative of the French President to La Francophonie (International Organisation of Francophone Countries), Senator from Vienne and President of the Prospective and Innovation Foundation, visited New York February 4th to 5th for a bilateral and multilateral program, including meetings with the group of Francophone Ambassadors at the United Nations and a visit to the Lycée français de New York during which he met with Haitian students being hosted by the Lycée following the Earthquake last January. Accompanied during his trip by Mr. Marc Laffineur, Vice President of the French National Assembly, he also held a press conference at the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations on questions related to the Francophonie.
