The 2016 Tandem celebrates cultural exchanges between Paris and New York !
This summer, Paris and New York, two cities with deep cultural bonds, will be furthering their historic ties with a 5-month cultural exchange program, the 2016 Paris-New York Tandem.
Presented by the Mayoral Offices of Paris and New York, in collaboration with the Institut Français, the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States, and the United States Embassy in France, the Tandem will feature more than 50 cultural events in both cities throughout the summer.
With a rich, diverse programming focusing on youth and public spaces, the Tandem festival will highlight a variety of art forms, such as film, music, and theater.
For movie lovers, the Films on the Green festival, whose theme this year is “A Summer in Paris”, offers free screenings of French movies in various New York City parks during the summer.
The France Rocks Summerfest showcases French bands and musicians with 30 concerts ranging from electronic music to pop, folk, and jazz.
On the occasion of the French national holiday, a Bastille Day Fair will be organized on July 10 by the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF).
Lastly, an exceptional Bourgeois gentilhomme by Molière, directed by Denis Podalydès, will be staged as part of the Lincoln Center Festival from July 20 to July 24. Feel free to browse our schedule for more information about the events featured in Tandem!
