Transat Bakerly Awards Ceremony at the Consulate
On Friday, May 13, 2016, the prizes were awarded for the oldest, single-handed transatlantic race, The Transat Bakerly, at the Consulate General of France in New York.
On his first solo trimaran race, François Gabart, the skipper for “Macif,” took line honors, setting sail from Plymouth on May 2 and completing the crossing in eight days, eight hours, 54 minutes and 39 seconds. Thomas Colleville, skipper for “Sodebo,” crossed the finish line second, followed by Yves Le Blevec for Team Actual.
